Well I guess this means if YOU just happen to look very vaguely like someone that the police are looking for YOU could be very likely to get a head full of lead on your way to work one morning. As the cops no doubt have a lot of people on their wanted lists in various shapes and sizes you could be odds on. Some dozy cop just has to "think" your dodgy and your well dead. I would have thought that dark skinned eastern types would be favourite but Menezes was rather pale looking so perhaps I'm wrong.
It's irrelevant whether he looked like Bin Laden or not. The fact is they were sat on top of the bloke, pinning him down when one of them decided to blow his head off. Another officer has already indicated surprise when the killer reached across him and shot DeMenezes.
Protocol was not followed here. Something unusual happened, and it resulted in an innocent man being murdered, simple as that. Killed unlawfully, as in murdered. The fact the killer was a policeman under stress makes no difference at all. Being stressed and getting a speeding ticket doesn't get you off, and these men are trained to apply force calmly and clinically.
This man was murdered, I suspect to test public acceptance of more draconian treatment of us all in the future. If we as a society continue to let them get away with this, it will result in the sort of tyranny we read about in the history books, where they come for you in the night, rip your fingernails out and then throw you from a helicopter over the sea.
Don't think the UK is a special case and it could never happen here. The UK isn't, and it so easily could and will unless more are willing to stand up now while they still can.
