Post Strike

the solidarity

The solidarity of the postal strike seems to be unaminous. With only a few posties looking for ways to avoid a confrontation with the Post Office ,and now the courts. It seems most are for a direct confrontation. The high court action for the Post Office was a foregone conclusion.Reports on various blogs and forums say the path of the managment would soon lead to the courts for the end purpose of breaking the union financially,as Thatcher did with Arthur Scargill and the miners union in the 1980's.The very thing of solidarity in an all out illegal strike is the weapon the Post Office depends on to take it to sequestration.Public opinion is not realy an issue here as the media controlled by the state, post office is designed to be pro-active against the strikers. But the real man on the street is of the opinion of not very much. It's not a topic of conversation in media comments on news paper sites.Nor even in local pubs.Probably in a debt ridden society the postmen on strike are secretly supported in delaying the bills.

what happened to all the political graffiti?
My memory of the polltax as a kid was loads of wicked graffititti that stuck in my mind far more than the media.
In the 80's there was loads of splits of support, corporate media & government must be concerned there is massive sympathy out there for striking workers
