Rhys Jones

This is something I was aware of last week.Story's had been going round that a boys mum had hidden him in the boot of a car to get him out of the country. That was not America. But the arrest of this boy returning from America due to the finding of guns in his family home is something that needs to be aired. To all intents and purposes it seems the family home was searched while they were not present. That has serious legal problems in a future prosecution. It is required in law that a warrant must be served and the occupiers present during the search. It is notable that he was quickly bailed. If,as reported the guns found one of them was the murder gun of Rhys then they would have had a very good leverage to use to get the boy to cooperate. No doubt threats would have been the first, you will be charged with murder. Then inducments. If you help us we will----etc.The bottom line is if the murder weapon was found there then the cops need to take it to a new level and offer this kid immunity from prosecution if he will testify.

And yes, the police might need to offer inducements if someone on the peripheral of the murder gives evidence.
I just hope this news about the gun is not another false lead. The Echo and Post need to be careful there - but the issue has to be kept going until the killer hopefully gives himself up.
There's nowhere left to run.
This is not my real name
The cops will never know
