Busy weekend for Bath activists

Bath Activist Network | 23.09.2007 21:18

Its been a busy weekend for Bath Activist Network, with several well recieved awareness raising events.

On Friday night, we helped on the door at a benefit for Bristle magazine. The venue was rammed, and the ever popular magazine was bought by many of the punters. In addition, BANs newsletter, Bath Bomb (e-mail  bathbombpress@yahoo.co.uk for your copy) went down a storm. About 60 copies were given out, with a good reception.
Saturday saw BAN help out Bath Animal Action to put on a free vegen food stall as part of 'go veggie month'. We handed out loads of free food and recipe books, got in loads of good debates, and even converted a couple of people! We then helped out on a hunt sabs collection, raising over £100 for the local group. On sunday, local activists put on the first 'bubbling under' film nite, showing SchNews's 2006 roundup, and a piece on casualisation of workplaces. The film showings will be a regular event on the 3rd sunday of every month, next month we are showing 'behind the mask' presented in person by well known animal liberationist Kieth Mann.
If you live in the area and want to get involved, we always have loads going on, from demos/actions to awarness raining and fund raising. You can contact us at the email address below.
See you on the streets!
