This story is being posted on the national site for the simple reason no publicity is forthcoming in Merseyside.Hopefully it may be picked up by more responsible publications and journalists. And something will be done about him

In the week that our television screens reported the devastating impact of drink drivers, a highly sinister event occurred.

After showing the harrowing scenes of families torn apart by accidents and bereavements, caused by drunk driving, a news blackout has been imposed on a new labour Councillor in Knowsley convicted of this serious offence.

Councillor Michael Kearns who represents the Longview ward in Huyton, for labour, was convicted in August 2007, of driving whilst being three times over he legal limit. He appears to have got off lightly.

Kearns sits in judgement making decisions on the lives of 150,000 people who are under the thumb of Knowsley Council. These would include Taxi - Drivers who would lose their plates, and livelihood if convicted of the same offence.

The Liverpool Press and Media have shamefully ignored this story. Usually they will name and shame this type of offender. However Kearns enjoys protection from this pro - new labour new cartel.

A further mystery is, how, when stopped and detained for being totally unfit to drive, his identity wasn’t outed whilst a resident of prison cell sleeping off the effects of being three times over the limit.

Its usually a racing certainty the identity of a local big cheese Cllr would ” leak ” out to the Echo. On this occasion, dream on. Press censorship is a reality under new labour

This odious individual also has a previous conviction for violence, and the unpleasant reputation of having once petitioned a Crown Court Judge, on behalf of a convicted paedophile, and his political sidekick, who was about to be caged for sex offences against a nine year old child.

All this appears to be perfectly acceptable in the George Orwell visionary 1984 world of new labour.

The people deserve better than this.
