Strawbale wall-raising, 20-22 Sept

Wheat-a-Bricks | 14.09.2007 11:05

Ecoworks community garden will host an activity weekend to finish the walls on our strawbale building from Thurs 20-Sat 22 September. We will be working from 10.30 am-4.30 pm each day. We aim to finish the walls on the end section of the building (destined to be a kitchen) in this period; come along!

On Thursday 20th, we shall start by doing preparation work; removing some bales that have been water-damaged, preparing stakes etc...then we shall start on the wall-raising, hopefully finishing by fixing the roofplate (timber structure that fits on top of the walls and on which the roof joists rest) on Saturday.

Ecoworks is on the Hungerhills allotment site, reached off Ransom Road, St.Anns.....we can provide transport from the city centre by arrangement. Ring me on 07719 428187 for more info. Hot drinks supplied; please bring your lunch.
