TESCO superstore is planning to build yet another store in Sheffield between Walkley and Crookes. Reaction from the community against the store has been strong with over fifty objections filed so far by the council and numerous petitions. In the spirit of this, Fargate in a one-off special examines TESCO's record on the environment, workers rights, developing world producers and its past role within the locality. It also asks itself "what can i do?" to fight the plans for development.

the force is strong

Resistance is strong in Walkley, we're fast realising that we actually have a string and vibrant community here. We must all keep talking to one another about the issue, so that when the time to talk is over (very soon) we will know who to call upon.
