The London Times City Diary, by Martin Waller, says today

" “…..it seems pretty pointless to open a spanking new rail line and then funnel large numbers of unnecessary passengers on to it. Plus, do we really need ore traffic through Heathrow?"

Khoodeelaar! organiser Muhammad Haque has posted a comment on the Times web site this morning [Friday 7 September 2007]:

Martin Waller sums up a core flaw in the current Crossrail scheme, which we have pointed out.

“…..it seems pretty pointless to open a spanking new rail line and then funnel large numbers of unnecessary passengers on to it. Plus, do we really need ore traffic through Heathrow?”

Indeed.
So the answer to the pointlessness of Crossrail is to drop the scheme and stop any more public money being waste don it.

And then address ALL of London's [and the related UK economic] transport issues, problems solutions in a rational, environmentally and economically sound and sensible way. Let us also include the people in whose name Crossrail has been hyped and spun so far.
