A cyclist has been hit by a driver who then failed to stay at the scene. The part of the Roman Road in Bow is closed off presently (18:30 31.8/7) by police.

A cyclist has been hit by a driver who then failed to stay at the scene. The part of the Roman Road in Bow is closed off presently (18:30 31.8/7) by police.

The Roman road is known to local cyclists as a dangerous stretch - congested and pot-holed.

I have since heard that it was a motorbike / cyclist incident and the motorcyclist left the scene.

Actually it was a pedestrian that was hit by a motorbike. Unfortunately the pedestrian died at the scene. Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
