Opposition to Sequani plans
Ledbury Reporter
Friday 31st August 2007
ANIMAL rights protestors say they will write to Herefordshire Council to oppose a planning application to extend the Sequani site, off the Bromyard Road.
Tony Peters, a former member of the protest group, "Stop Sequani Animal Testing" (SQUAT) said he was no longer involved in that particular campaign, but he added: "I am sure that campaigners will write to the council, and my own feeling is that it should be turned down."
There have been a number of protests outside the Sequani plant, going back many years.
The proposed extension is to form rooms "ancillary to the research and development use of the site."
Available floor space would be increased by 55 square metres and car parking spaces would increase from 99 to 102.
The building would be block built with a roof of metal sheets. No-one from Sequani was available for comment.
