Police have now released all those arrested over the murder of Rhys Jones.Yesterday Meseyside police issued a statement saying they believed one of the teenagers in custody was the gunman.Information from the community is scant.Not surprisingly after some incidents in the past shots have been fired at the homes of people suspected of any slight,real or imagined.Anyone that does know anything is tyoo afraid to come forward.Some of the gang members are the children of long term career crimminals and well schooled in the lore of gun culture and crime.If Rhys had been the victim of a sex crime they would not have hesitated to give him up.But the murder of a child is seen as a nonsence crime be it a sex crime or not and is classed by the crimminal fraternity as a nonce.So the fact that it was committed by another child would hold no sway.As in the murder of toddler Jamie Bulger a mob marched to the home of a suspect to take the law into their own hands.And the scenes outside the magistrates court at Bootle of people attacking the police convoy left no one in any doubt as to what would have happend had they gotten hold of the killers.People in Norris Green and Croxteth are saying those that know about the killer are the youths of the area,some as young as Rhys.But those that supply the guns know too.And they are the nonces.They are the ones who these teenagers look up to in their mis-guided logic.They flood the area with hard drugs and like a Fagin use the kids to do the dirty work.If you know anything but are too afraid to say anything there are ways you can do it.You can use crimestoppers.You can write a letter or print it and mail it from out of your own area.You can post it on a website from an internet cafe.You could even graffiti it on a wall.But what ever way you want to do do it.Don't let this killer escape.If you leave him in your community he will become callous and more violent and next time it may be a younger child.He will most certainly influence your children.
