Bollocks to the climate camp

Working To Rule | 20.08.2007 01:14 | Climate Camp 2007 | Analysis | Liverpool | London

WhiIe I have no problem at all with what's happened there and at t'other one last year I do have a problem with whats happened to IMC UK.

It's meant to be the national IMC not an extension of london indymedia. If something is happening in london then it should be covered by london indymedia and reports sent to them as the nearest regional imc.

Instead what's happened is that IMC UK has been taken over by the climate camp and anything that doesn't fit into the expectations/values of a couple of hundred people in a field in london gets hidden or zapped.

That's not to undermine the achievements of solar, windpower and people power but when the camp closes down it is back to reality, big time.

Meanwhile IMC UK has to go on despite the vindictive nature of some of the decisions made during the weeks camping...

Enid Blyton would have loved climate camp!

And your complaint is what exactly?

Not quite sure what you are alluding to. Would have been more constructive if you'd just come out and said whatever is bothering you. The climate camp is an event that has drawn people from all over the country, or whatever you call the country, with people from all over england, wales, scotland, ireland etc etc and not a small number of internationals. If you've got an actaul serious problem with something that has happened then you're best off writing to the imc uk features list about it.
