Update on the XL blockade this afternoon: one protester, who was D-locked inside the lobby, has been arrested and taken to Crawley police station. Another couple of people were ejected from the building after leafleting workers on the ground and first floors. It has been reported that the private security on the site were heavy-handed whilst removing the protesters. One protester is said to have been thrown down the stairs. Another 8 people, who were later outside the building, were stopped and searched by over 25 police officers. 10 police vehicles attended the scene. The XL office had been targeted before as the airline is known to operate charter flights to DR Congo forcibly removing rejected asylum seekers. See this previous feature article for more info.
