From the 13th to the 21st of August 2007, a climate change camp took place in Heathrow to protest about the changes of climate and global warming. Environmental activists have been protesting together, on the issue of the increasingly worrying climate change.
'We are here to get a message to people that climate change is happening and it is affected people's and animal's lives and we are here to make people care about global warming because everyone is the cause of climate change......' says protester from the climate camp.
There are reportedly to be many activities at the climate camp including; a kidspace area, many kitchens including the central kitchen, a tranquility and medetation tent and also a first aid tent.
'The camp is absolutely fantastic there are so many activities to do and so many people you can meet, who are interested in changing the world. This camp has also been very popular with the press and were all glad that this has become quite a popular event that will hopefully open people's eyes about climate change.' says protester from the climate camp.
Residents of the area say that the camp has not been disturbing and the floods that have recently been taking place have forced people to go to the climate camp.
It has also been reported that police have been stopping and searching people in the camp and around the area, also there had said to been more police than protesters but this statement is not true.
As well as having the climate camp, the activists have planned to have have more protests on the issue that has threatened us all. Protesters reportedly mentioned the climate camp has introduced more opportunities to say the our planet.
