Better directions to the Climate Camp.

Visitor | 15.08.2007 06:23 | London

There seems to be a lot of confusion with maps purporting to show the location of the Climate Camp.

Try this instead: do a Google Map search for Sipson Lane. The arrow will point slightly to the right of the kissing gate entrance and footpath which is on on the South side of the lane. If you enlarge you will see a circular concrete object to the left of the gate, this is actually on site and is possibly the remains of an old well. The footpath marks one of the boundaries to the site.

map from bus stop

Here's a map showing the bus stop where you get off if you caught the 140, H98 or 90 from Hayes & Harlington Station. The bus stop you get off at is called Manor Lane on the map. The one you get on at is directly in front of the station on the same side of the road.
You can catch the 140 from Heathrow central bus station too (bus stop 19), if you have come on the Piccadilly line to (get off tube at terminals 123).

Just look for the lines of police fencing that were put up ten days before anybody arrived !

Reporting about what really happended in the run up to the police takeover of the camp has been dreadful on indymedia, all the real reports have been hidden and we are only alloxed to read the official "everything is wonderful" crap from the usual names.

I visited the site and walked away when I saw the complete police control of every aspect of it.

We were sold out and I want to know who did it, I will be the loud bastard asking difficult questions at the post camp meeting.

As a local resident I supported this initiative until I realised the reality of it. Drug trading, drunken idiots up all night shouting abuse at passing cars and our views ignored by yobs who want a confrontation with the police and local kids.

You are not welcome in our village, we do not want your involvement in our campaign to stop the new runway
