Are cops being allowed to stay on site?

FIT Watch | 13.08.2007 11:58 | Climate Camp 2007 | Climate Chaos | Repression | London

Can someone at camp confirm whether the following article is true
 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6943549.stm

According to the BBC, 25 cops were allowed to enter the site and 4 have been given permission to stay on site.

Please could someone on site confirm what the situation is, as it changes how many people attending will view the protest and their repsonses to the policing.

Thanks

You're letting the police stay on site but not letting Journalists? Nice sense of priorities there.

Yes - 4 plus on site - they are here with the permisson of the land owner.
Naturally the camp isn't!
There's a load of rain comming though so they will hide in their vans when that starts

the coppers have more authority than the climate campers, and the climate campers more authority than the journos. I'm sure that they were forced to have 4 cops on site to prevent a bigger situation developing.
