Polish Posties Show Solidarity In Liverpool

Royal Mail Chat | 04.08.2007 17:22 | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements | Liverpool

For some weeks we have had Polish casual workers in Liverpool m/c, the mail centre manager has been trying to beat us over the head with them, threatening to train them to operate the machines and such, if we go on strike.

They have been caught in the middle of this dispute, as they are only trying to earn a few bob.

Lo and behold I was on the picket line tonight, and could not believe my eyes, they gathered around tonight, their spokesman went into the mail centre, came out and gave me the thumbs up, and they walked down the hill to the pub. They had decided not to cross our picket lines and would not work while we were on strike! Best wishes to the Liverpool Poles! One in the eye for the mail centre manager!
