The Mathew Street Festival,were the Beatles started out in the Cavern is no more.

After paying a huge fee to Capita Symonds,a health and safety company in the business of saying no. The dickheads running Liverpool council have cancelled the Mathew street festival.In the year leading up to the capitil of culture 08.This is a hugly popular free festival attended by people from all over the world,some people have already booked flights from as far away as Japan and the incompetents at LCC cancel with only weeks notice.Using construction at the Pier Head as the excuse,which is a long way from Mathew street.We are now looking into who got what bung and how much.

This may seem bad at first but...think of the reduction in Co2 emissions created by people flying around the globe to hear some Beatles songs. Every little helps. Stay home and have a party in your own backyard and invite some friends over for a Beatles shin dig.

Liverpools daily crap sheet the echo has ganged up with the city's gangster population to save our festival.For an exorbitant fee you can now watch all the free bands in local clubs,at a price.So we decided to offer an alternative free venue.It's a huge area.it's unpopulated.It's up for development next year,so they want it kept low profile.Get your bands together.Get your electronics and power.Tell your friends.And on the day befor it we will post it on here,and other places were it is.Bring tents.Free sites for burger bars etc.
LIVERPOOL TAKING BACK IT"S FREEDOM.
This is serious.Some well known,if old bands have agreed.Lets just say up in the hills of wales is not big enough.For those in the know .will know.

I am from Crewe and I am still going to the Beatles Festival this year. However, I noticed an article with regards it being cancelled on Pier Head because of the Re-Generation program.

Whether this is relevant or not I don't know, but a similar Re-Generation program is in process in my Hometown of Crewe. The main Property Developer for that project has a financial interest in the Barfly club in Liverpool and by pure coincidence that is one of the new indoor venues being suggested for some of the tribute acts.

Yes I agree, this definetely needs looking into. Someone is definetely bunging someone somewhere. The development agency in charge of Re-Generation in Crewe is called "Brownstone Urban Re-Development" which is also Re-Generating the North Staffordshire area. Is there a pattern forming?

Fourty years of the Cavern and no festival,Not without a fight! I think a lot of Beatles fans would like to know where these people live.I hope they can handle an angry mob of thousands.Sounds like another case of a developer pay off to me.Talking of developers in Liverpool,how the hell can a developer cut down 1000 trees WITHOUT planning permission?
