A few thousand folks turned out for the 5th Nottingham Gay Pride Bash in the Arbo.
I didn't know if should take my wellies, bearing in mind the weather of late ........
However, it turned out to be a dry, sunny and very colourful day. Many costumes and exhuberance. Music and acts from the bandstand, dance tent, and beer tent, [of course].
Next to the inevitable merchandising, there were many stalls giving out a wealth of information of concern.
Nice to see the Sheriff of Nottingham turn out, taking time out from harassing Robin Hood and merry men, to make a speech and declare everything open.
This year also represents the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality.
As in previous years, the Gay ' Rainbow' flag, flew above the Council House, Market Square, throughout the previous day.
