Currently there are approximately 750.000 refugees in Sri Lanka.
Over the last 18 months 300.000 refugees have been displaced as a result of fighting between the Tamil tigers and the Sri Lankan army.
The civil war between the Tamil tigers and the government of Sri Lanka which started in 1983 has cost almost 70.000 lives.
