SAN FRANCISCO, Jul. 11, 2007 (Business Wire) -- The fourth annual San Francisco Theater Festival, a free one-day extravaganza of 75 shows on 10 stages, Sunday, July 22nd, 11:00 am-5:00 pm, boasts its most exciting lineup ever, including:

-- Insignificant Others, an award-winning original musical by SF creator Jay Kuo.

-- The Intersection for the Arts presents an inside look at its development process, including: Performances from Jessica Hagedorn's Fe in the Desert; a preview of the upcoming dance theatre project, 51802, by the ESP Project featuring Erika Chong Shuch; plus material for the fall New Works Festival.

-- The EXIT Theatre showcases recent productions and previews its fall classic, the Fringe Festival: 'EXIT Theatre Presents' with host Mark Romyn.

-- The Marsh will present talented solo artists from its ongoing series: Rebecca Fisher, Wayne Harris, Mark McGoldrick, Merle Kessler.

-- Tell it on Tuesday of Berkeley will present an array of talented solo performers: Frank Turco, Liz Nichols, Carolyn Doyle, Stefanie Goldstein, Steve Budd, Sandra Niman.

-- Suzan-Lori Parks' 365 Days/365 Plays (week 36, Jul. 16-22, 2007).

-- Jazz Kids (from Singapore) sing & dance to American pop and jazz.

Also featured in this year's festival are: African-American Shakespeare Company, Asian American Theater Company, BATS Improv, Blue Blanket Improv, The Clown Conservatory, 42nd Street Moon, Lamplighters Musical Theatre, Colored Ink Hip Hop, Last Night at Playland, No Nude Men Productions, Playground, San Francisco Buffoons, Spellbinder Entertainment, and many others, including many shows suitable for families.

The downtown San Francisco festival takes place at Yerba Buena Gardens, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Zeum, plus this year the festival will expand into the Metreon. The festival, a FREE celebration of local theater, consists of short performances, excerpts, scenes, readings, and solo performances at 10 stages -- five indoor and five outdoor.
