Indymedia Weekend in Cardiff

cymru-imc-wales | 08.07.2007 11:50 | Indymedia

Media activists from across Wales gathered in Cardiff this weekend for the second meeting of Cymru-Imc-Wales, as part of a packed programme of discussions, actions and entertainment

After a No2ID protest and a meeting to discuss action against the proposed military academy in St Athan, activists from across Wales met at the PAD (People’s Autonomous Destination)  http://www.thepad.org.uk for the second Cymru-Imc-Wales gathering.

Following feedback from the first gathering  http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/ImcWalesMeeting3FebMinutes
and a progress report, the meeting moved on to consider plans for the future.
Amongst other things, the following decisions were made:

-finalise our editorial guidelines
-organise English to Welsh translation of web page
-do an outreach workshop at the Big Green Gathering
-get our web page up and running as soon as possible.

Plans for the future include an outreach tour of Wales, bilingual help guides, stickers/other publicity materials and a benefit gig.

We need more people from all over Wales to get involved in this project.

...forgot to include a report on the entertainment, which was punk night at TJs in Newport: Foreign Legion and UK Subs and a very sticky floor. A good place for distributing South Wales Anarchist Newsletter Gagged, now also available in audio format:
