25th June 2007: Sheffield Floods

6:42pm The Sheaf by Broadfield Road

The Sheaf didn't burst it's banks here, no doubt in part because it did further upstream, including at Millhouses Park where there was a tragic drowning of a 14 year old boy. At the junction of Broadfield Road and Clyde Road (

There were quite a few people out in their customised Landrovers, seemingly driving around through the floods for kicks and a small number of people walking home.
Many other people from Sheffield will have far more interesting tales to tell about their experiences and many people are still without electricity and unable to returned to their homes due to flood damage.

Are floods so rare over there that you folks don't realize how suicidal that can be? Floods can wash out roads. Where the road is under water you can't be sure that there still is a road under the water. What you think is just a foot or so of water over the road surface might be eight feet of water over a
hole where the road once was.
Floods are nothing to play with.
NEVER drive over a water covered road when the water is from a flood.

Clearly an inside job...

The truth is out there....
There are far too many coincidences here that need proper investigation. Questions need to be asked and lengthy time consuming debates need to organised as a matter of urgency! Anyone who says otherwise is just burying their head in the sand like an Ostrich. Though to be honest Emus are better looking....

I suggest we find some grainy film of the flooding and then run this film on websites telling people that this is proof of a secret operation. With luck enough idiots will be convinced to allow us to estalish a healthy income writing books, going on lecture tours and appearing on late night obscure TV shows.
I suggest we call it the Flood Truth Campaign

There is a story behind the floods...

Which have noting to do with the flooding in Sheffield.
Coverage on Indymedia about the story of the the drainage system in Sheffield would be interesting and perhaps it'll happen sometime -- that raw sewage ends up in many Sheffield rivers every time there is heavy rain is rather disgusting and it stinks and the privatisation of the water industry is part of this story...
But this article is clearly not the place for a debate about 9/11 -- I think this comment and the one from Guido above should be hidden.
