Glastonbury yesterday did not mark a world wide movement for ending poverty. Yet poverty was the theme of the speech given on the same day in the US by John Edwards, one of the Democratic contenders for the office of president there. And today's print edition of the Independent [London UK] is leading with the theme of food scarcity across the globe. With rising population numbers globally and massive immigration of the poverty-affected people towards the 'West and North', poverty is the bigger challenge than any other today...So what is going on in Brick Lane London E1 about it today?
They are starting a new literary festival there,. Starting at 1 O’ Clock exactly at the corner of
Hanbury Street and Brick Lane.. London E1..
It is on a different scale than Glastonbury. In every way.
