Stokefest 07 presents over 300 artists performing on six stages, arts and crafts workshops, children's activities, and the Stokefest Sunday Market featuring over 100 local charity, craft and organic food stalls.

Stokefest, which attracts around 20,000 people over the course of the day, is organised by Open Source Productions Ltd, a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation established in 2002 with the initial charge of continuing the annual festival and community arts legacy started by Stoke Newington Midsummer Festival.

True to its origins, Stokefest 07 kicks off at 12noon with a procession down Stoke Newington Church Street led by Barking Bateria samba band.

Festival highlights include:
Champion Sound (the promotional division of Cargo) presents presents an eclectic mix of dance music and party tunes featuring Radio 1 DJ Gilles Peterson, Hackney Globetrotter Russ Jones, Charlie Kartel and live artists Ben Westbeech, The Mules and Morton Valence.

The hugely popular annual meeting of local reggae sound systems, Solution and Gladdy Wax returns to its favourite pitch, and Core Arts returns to host an acoustic stage alongside artists from acoustic collectives Fresh'n'Live and The Klinker. There's also three catwalk shows under the heading Art in the Park Fashion, presented by The Others, showcasing East London and national fashion.

Interactive arts for the whole family include: a 3D maze created out of recycled material; all day drop-in workshops, taster classes and demonstrations in everything from Japanese swordsmanship, aikido and capoeira to Asian lantern and bespoke bunting making; a fun cycling obstacle course for children; and the lovely Laundrettas hosting guided tours of the festival on board the Stokefest express land train. Also, look out for a stilt-walking Elvis and high-flying trapeze nymphs.

The festival finale features excerpts from Bassline Circus' new street culture show Advertigo (tickets on sale now for Clissold Park shows 3-17 June www.basslinecircus.org)

Stokefest is supported in part by Hackney Council, a host of the 2012 Olympic Games
