Guido, thanks for these photos. I know that the cops are just humans and I know that there is something inside of them that allows them to think that they are doing the "right thing". Obviously their version of the "right thing" and our version are diametrically opposed. I wonder if they have made the connections for themselves yet between the paradigms of "progress" and "rights" and "freedoms" and "democracy" espoused by the G8 leaders whom they are beholden to defend and the absolute climatic and environmental devastation that is taking place, the destruction of poverty and global social and economic injustices that western capitalism perpetuates?

What would the protesters tell the leaders of the G8 if they could meet face-to-face? What alternatives would they propose for the way things are and are likely to remain being, until the 2nd law of thermodynamics kicks in and we suddenly stop over the cliff and realise that there is no carrying capacity left to protect us from the inevitable pull of gravity that will smash our collective bodies against the sharp rocks of annihilation.
