Demonstration to protest against the death of another woman prisoner
Helen Mary Cole, aged 48, died on 3 June 2007
while in the care of Styal Prison, Cheshire
Demonstration will take place on Wednesday 13 June 2007 starting at 1.00 pm
Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend

(1) Banners will be displayed, and flowers laid in memory of mother Mrs Helen Mary Cole who lost her life while in the care of HMP & YOI Styal.
(2) Demonstration, for the duration of the afternoon, will be led by Pauline Campbell, bereaved mother of Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, 18, who died in the so-called care of HMP and YOI Styal on 18 January 2003.
(3) Helen Cole is the fifth woman to die in prison this year (England & Wales; apparently self-inflicted deaths).
(4) The demonstration on 13.06.07 will be the 24th demonstration to be held outside women's prisons in England since protests began in 2004.
(5) To date, Pauline Campbell has been arrested 14 times, and is currently awaiting criminal trial at North Avon Magistrates' Court.

Your actions are despicable. Staff did everything in their powers to help this woman. She gave no indication she was suicidal. Are you going to turn this inquest into a circus too?

I just want to say thankyou for the protest you done for my mum Helen cole.
You are right in what you say the prison is lacking support to vunrable women like my mum. One of the reasons my mum was not granted bail was the risk of self harm, when the doctor at styal examined my mum she passed the medical examination and said she was not at risk of self harm 48 hours later my mum was found hanging in her cell. I was told that if it had not been time for my mum to take her medication she proberly would not of been found at that time 11.25am. ithen foun out even if she had been on suicide watch that it is only every 4 hours. The inquest into my mothers death is not known yet of when it will be.
