I went to see my friend,who i have to call John Smith,as i promised him I would not name him on here,but i will convince him it is needed.On Friday morning his cell door was opened and he was told he had to go on a "hospital callup".When he got there it was to see the dentist.He told the "MO".That he never put down for the dentist.And was told "Go anyway.You never know it might be to do with your appeal".Let me give you some background.
John is 27.He is a bit slow.But he is a realy nice guy.Very gentle with an infectious smile.He has often been the victim of bullying since childhood.But it never once made him angry.Not untill he met a lovly girl he is deeply in love with.When the bullying extended to her he got mad.Not mad like we would when our wife or girl friend was raped.He just broke into the house of the rapist while he was out and shot a hole through the pillow of his bed,kinda warning.Me i would have shot him.So he got 5 years.The cops and prosecution sympathised.But not the prison service.When he got in to see the dentist he was told he needed a little work on his front tooth.He accepted it.Then two orderlys held him down while the dentist pulled his tooth out.A tooth that only had one problem.It made his smile infectious.On the way back to the wing the Orderly said "You don't have a nice smile now Smith".
