Student Loans.

BBC Radio 4 - 3pm June 4th Money program about student loans.

The question I put was "Is anyone daft enough to go into debt for a devalued British degree worth employing" and ended up asking could one get a loan ti go to take a degree in a Chinese University.

They got through the program without saying anything about the fundamental question, but right at the end said that you could get loan to study abroad so long as it was part of your British University course. But you could not borrow through the scheme to take an entire course abroad.

Has anyone looked up Degree costs in India, or China, or even Cuba? Or where the exchange rate would be really favourable, Zimbabwe. Working and saving hard for a year in a rich country could well fund a years study in a poor country. It is odd, fifty years ago there was a student from Rhodesia who had done that in order to study for a professional qualification in London.

The wheel turns.
