Green Festival [in the rain] Arboretum Park

The annual Green Festival, was held in the Arboretum on Sunday 27th May, between 12 - 5pm.

There were various stalls, information and assorted bands and acts on the bandstand. It rained ..... then it rained a bit more. But in spite of the bank holiday weather, a couple of hundred folks attended showing their great british pluk under such conditions. Oh and did I mention it rained ......

There was still a smile to be seen, now and again, at the event. A highlight for me was the industial-scale bubble machine. I was quite suprised that the bubbles survived under such heavy rain. Perhaps there is a university physicist out there, that can explain why the bubbles didn't get blatted? I just wondered really.

great festival,despite weather,Council

Brilliant festival despite the weather. Security & health & safety were amazing, but it looks like events like this need a bit more support by top people in the council. This is a great event that shows the green face of nottingham & great to see so many green businesessmen there on every level & ordinary taxpayers & the smiles on all their faces including the policeman who jogged through briefly.
More funding needed for events like these & down with theiving WRG,Billionaire owner a robberbaron Mr Guy Hands, health & safety comes above incinerator contracts robbing & poisoning all of us. Biffa & other recycling firms seem more than happy to do the job, plus people & community centres are getting more & more into recycling.
I heardof a easy process where waste can even be compressed into bricks & safely enclosed to build with & this method hasnt been patented, hope NAIL is aware of this & NECTA our local ecobuilding trainers.
If the green party, independentts & anarchist friends do takeover lets consider a coalition at moment people support labour, liberal, even tories electorally to maintain a balance, poor fools who vote BNP deserve what they get. Brinsley may have to be quarantineed & the baby murderer, torturers somked out, lets hope Brinsley does it before we all do.
