President Hugo Chavez is attempting to close the last private TV station but the people are on the streets showing him they will not be bullied.
Chavez has been following a policy of restricting news access to the Venuzaelan people with first radio, then newspapers and now TV being bought under government control. Internet access is highly restricted so we don't know how long we will be able to report.
The BBC has a report on their international news website.
This evening there are maybe 200 000 people fighting police and state militia demanding their control of TV to stay with the people and not the state. The parliment has been painted and police cars burnt.
We the people will win !
Viva !
