The BBC Panorama is famous for its documentraries, but here we get to see the other side, in this video examination of John Sweeneys (now famous for his decibels) very biased attacks on Scientology.

No shit! But no to Scientology

They use tactics against people who could be in a state of emotional crisis to fleece money from them to buy all of the books, Cd's and DVDs from the cult figure Ron L Hubbard, who famously said " the fastest way to become a millionaire is to invent your own religion".
I had first hand experience of their methods about six years ago in Birmingham. I was suffering from depression at the time and was looking for some way to reconnect with the world. I went along to 3 sessions at their school in Birmingham and was made very uncomfortable by the way they tried to sell, sell, sell all the products they had to offer.
When i got home it was the constant phone calls and intrusion in my life that was borderline harassment and they kept on asking me to come to the Scientology " Castle " somewhere in Kent i think. It came to the point where i had to tell them to" leave me the fuck alone " or i would report them to citizens advice.
One of the things i noticed most when at the Scientology center was that many of the people on this particular course seemed to be at a point of crisis and lacking in self confidence, disempowered making them open to this intrusive type of behavior. I do not wish to defend the BBC but the lid needs to be lifted on this type of " cult " and hopefully religion in general.
