This is a translation of a call (incomplete) for the "ums Ganze" bloc on the demonstration on June 2 in Rostock.
“...ums Ganze!”
Smash Capitalism. Fight the G8 Summit.
Under the slogan of “Growth and Responsibility”, Germany plays host, from June 6th to 8th, to the group of 8 (the 7 most powerful industrial nations plus Russia) in the small seaside resort of Heiligendamm. When the public is bombarded with such high-class empty phrases, then one thing is clear: propaganda is at play. As to the real significance of the G8 meeting: this probably remains unclear even to the inner circle of participants. It seems questionable that the G8 Summit should be granted more importance than the roles that World Bank or WTO fulfil in global capitalism; equally questionable is the left-wing agitprop that claims that the leaders' proclamations to solve the world's problems are simply based on “lies”.
The G8 is not the “Spider in the Net”, or the “Control Room” of “Rapacious Capitalism”. It has to be understood as a form in which the political reflects capitalist society. This is why we call for the irreconcilable act of negation. Such a political act does not refer to the “One Family”of the deceived and disappointed, but to the possibility to move capitalism in its totality into the centre of critique: To criticise its structures in institutions and minds, and to develop from there a perspective beyond domination, violence, repression and exploitation.
