The MEANING is that some of us are such fools as not to bother with the least research before opening our traps. We believe any crap somebody posts.

The reality is that we cannot determine the meaning of the gesture because what it means depends on where made by whom. Here the gesture in question is known as "the horns". Yes indeed, if made by a "Texas Longhorns fan it means something different than made by an Italian grandmother (warding off the "evil eye" in one context -- made behind a man's back, sayign that he is a cuckold).

Get out a "gesture map" as a first step. One of the funniest books I ever read in college because the researchers mapping changes in meaning sometimes had to MAKE the gestures in border areas (where meanings changed) to see what reaction they got.

Example --- "the bird". If you ever visit the US, please be advised that when making the "vee" sign (victory) we here do NOT distinguish which way the hand faces. We make "the bird" only with one finger raised.

I havn't a clue as to what was being meant BUT seriously doubt that either of these men was making the gesture in its ceremonial magic context. Which isn't "devil worship" in any event and I don't know whether "Satanists" use this gesture at all.

The Jews do not. The Jewish hand gesture with which you are confusing this one is made with all fingers out, the outer pairs together with the split between the 2nd and 3rd.
