Tyneside Community Action for Refugees (TCAR) have called a National Day of Action in Defence of Asylum Rights on Saturday 19th May.

Assemble: Strangeways Prison (where asylum seekers are detained) at 12pm move to Piccadilly Gardens via British Airways shop (paid £4.3 million to deport refugees in 2005/2006) and Asylum and Immigration Tribunal (AIT). At Piccadilly Gardens campaign stalls can be set up, with speakers, chanting, etc. Bring ideas and a willingness to take an active part.
