A demo called linked to IDAHO- International Day Against Homophobia- May 17
to highlight the plight of gay people within UK detention centres facing with deportation.

Demo :Sat May 19 Assemble 1100 then 1130-1300 at Dover Detention Centre, Western Heights, Dover, Kent. "Stop deporting gays / close all detention centres".

Demo to link with the International Day Against Homophobia (May 17). www.idaho.org.uk (See this website for a 10 min downloadable dvd about gay refugees.)

Whilst there may be some gay people in the DDC they 'cannot' be identified, just that there might be and that there are lgbt persons in other centres.

Gay people cannot be returned to any of the 80 countries around the world which still make homosexuality illegal, where they are very likely to face attacks, imprisonment, beatings or even executions.

If you can come along whether gay or straight in support of this pls do so- pls circulate info further.

Wrap Up Warm

Anyone attending this demo would be well advised to wrap up well. Even on fairly warm days it can be bitterly cold up at the Dover Detention Centre on the Western Heights. With a well-known cruising and dogging area just half way down the hill, why not come along and have some fun (before, during and after)? Wearing fairly warm clothes is essential though!
