A prison-death demonstration will be held outside HMP Send, Surrey
on Wednesday 9 May 2007, at 1.30 pm, for the duration of the afternoon
to protest against the death of a young mother (Emma Kelly, aged 31)
who died in the care of the jail on 19 April 2007
Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend

(1) Prison address: HMP Send, Ripley Road, Send, Surrey, GU23 7LJ.
(2) Banners will be displayed, and flowers laid in memory of Emma Kelly.
(3) Demonstration will be led by Pauline Campbell, mother of Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, 18, who died in the so-called care of HMP Styal, Cheshire, 2003.
(4) A further 36 women prisoners have died in the 'care' of the State since Sarah Campbell's death in 2003.
(5) Emma Kelly is the 4th woman to die from self-inflicted injuries in women's prisons [England & Wales] in the first four months of this year, a figure that already exceeds the number of women's deaths for the whole of last year.
