Sheffield M1 Protestors Arrested

A1 | 17.04.2007 13:42 | Ecology | Sheffield

Eight people were arrested and houses were raided yesterday before a planned action against M1 widening in South Yorkshire could take place. According to the mainstream media three women and five men were arrested on suspicion of committing Public Order offences and were later released on bail, the arrest were made before the activists could stop any work and the 'incident' did not disrupt traffic.

Activists need to rethink their security arrangements?
How did the cops know who was involved and when the action was to take place?

"Hazardous Environment"...?

18.04.2007 01:49

From the BBC link, quoting Chief Pig Jason Harwin: "The aim of our operation is to ensure public safety in what is a potentially hazardous environment."

Hazardous environment? The whole world is becoming a hazardous environment, and public safety is going to be pretty seriously threatened (to put it lightly) when the effects of climate change and peak oil kick in.

If these fucking pigs actually gave a rat's ass about public safety, they might be doing something about the corporate criminals who are destroying our planet at the expense of every single living thing.

So, why are they brown-nosing their corporate buddies when global ecocide is happening right under their fat snouts?

Is it really "protecting and serving the community" (or whatever self-serving lie they're using this week) by being the boot-boys of those who will be attempting to profit until their dying breath from the destruction of our only life support system?

Long after planetary meltdown is in effect, they'll still be telling us to bend over while they shaft us for our own "protection".

Fuck off, you fucking pig scum.

The Ruts

"Eight people were arrested and houses were raided yesterday before a planned action against M1 widening in South Yorkshire could take place. "

You mean before an 'alleged' action was 'allegedly' planned to take place. Use lawyers language cos it is used against us.

I was done held on 'Conspiracy To Commit a Breach of the Peace' once, whatever that means. I had thought the SUS laws had been repealed. I was released after 24 hours with an abject apology, but with no cash 50 miles from where I'd been lifted and much, much further from my house.

Blocking a motorway is dangerous though unless you thought it through. I have known recent infiltrated actions that were more risky being allowed to proceed, presumably simply to protect the agent from being identified.

You could be suffering from an infiltrator or an informer ( not the same things). An infiltrator is a pro; an informer is just a punter that has just been pressured or bribed.

One or more of your homes could be bugged. Probably will be by the time you get home at least ;-)

As a group you could have discussed the plan verbally with each other while under surveillance - write plans down and burn the paper afterwards. Drop plans where mistakes have been made and make new plans.

One of you may have have inadvertently been carrying a bugged mobile phone or other piece of electronic kit - you don't need any electronics to block a road.

You may all have went to the one location and then switched off your phones simultaneously - leave them at home turned on.

All these things happen day to day. What happens most often though is someone boasted about it before it happened, or accidentally blurted something out aloud that they shouldn't have. If that is the case, they are probably very ashamed and trying to avoid admitting it. It is better for your group, and therefore for you, that you all 'fess up any potential leaks you may have made. That way, if they are credible mistakes, you can ignore the more serious possibilities and continue trusting each other. Otherwise, break down into smaller groups and be more paranoid.

Standing on the street ust waiting for a bus
This car pulls up starts iving me the S.U.S.
They say 'hey sonny I think you're out of file
You better come with us for a while
We got you with S.U.S - you look too obvious
And don't make no fuss - we got you with S.U.S
So they shake me down
Try to make me look like a clown
I just stare at the ground
