Funny how there's an awful lot of NON-Hippies who also won't touch GM produce these days too!

In fact, the last time I checked even (the Anti Christ also known as) Tescos were selling organic produce now, so there must be SOME money in it!

The potato crops are not a gm crop trial, they are a trial of public resolve. It's been over three years since the last trials and much has happened in the time that has passed. The biotech industry and their buddies in government are eager to find out if public opinion has softened enough to push forward their agenda and these potatoes are here to test our response. In other words, it's a trap but one we can't afford not to fall into. But it's worse than that. In the past, GM protesters have had the support not only of the public but also the press and the courts. However, you can be sure that much thought has gone into this trap and the powers that be must be confident that things will go their way in terms of media response and legal action. That doesn't mean we should steer clear, it means we must come down really hard on this, not just the crops when they eventually get planted, but also the company behind it and any others that think they might like another go in this country.

Of course you can always take your polite messages to a BASF site near you...
