JERUSALEM POST: Is US ready to strike Iran on Friday???

qwey | 04.04.2007 06:07

The United States will be ready to launch a missile attack on Iran's nuclear facilities early this month, perhaps on Good Friday according to reports in the Zionist Jerusalem Post.

Quoting Russian intelligence sources, the reports says, the US has devised a plan to attack several targets in Iran, and an assault could be carried out by launching missiles from fighter jets and warships stationed in the Persian Gulf.

There has been no response from Washington.

The reports come as the Iranian chief of staff, Hassan Fayrouz Abadi, was quoted on Saturday by Iran's Fars news agency warning leaders of Arab countries that Israel plans to open a "suicidal attack" on its neighbors this summer, to "prevent the withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq and the area."

I thought the Jerusalem Post was deemed a filthy propaganda rag?

This story has been on this site several times before, it's a shame that the people reposting stuff here don't take the time to read what is here already...

Hopefully Craig Murray was right when he said:

"The story leaked by Russian intelligence claiming knowledge of US plans to attack Iran on 6 April has had great publicity in Iran, if very little here. Personally I doubt it is true. But it seems to me a definite risk that the Iranians will decide to keep the marines against that contingency."

Perhaps indeed as Murray suggests we have been suckered. As much as I agree that propaganda pieces like the Jpost one shouldn't be ignored, I think we should be all rather wary of becoming part of the propaganda machine itself.

The Jpost is not really anymore a reliable a source of clean info than the Daily Telegraph and as such shouldn't be repost wholesale without some sort of caveat and critique of its stance.

I really hope I'm wrong but it don't think it'll be the last piece of recycled Overture to Iraqi Freedom that we see flung at Iran.

In recent history, what the US has being doing in the UN Security Council is a better barometer /alarm bell than anything we'll find in the Jerusalem Post.

But it seems that some people who frequent this place have a full-time preoccupation in believing anything they want regarding Israel- such dispositions make people weak, malleable and as untrustworthy as the NeoCons.

Not Donald Rumsfeld

Well I guess by Friday...
