Bob Marely is a Legend: musically, spiritually, politically and philosophically. He was a great athelete, footballer, too, whose daily intake of Ganja would have killed a troop of horses.

The most surprising revelation since his tragic death has been that he is Irish.

It may be hard to believe, but Bob Marley was in fact Irish. When Marely was inducted by Bono into the rock and roll Hall of Fame, he made reference to it, and it has now been confirmed by records kept in Dublin City Registry Office

Born in Dublin, and a half brother to Phil Linot, the lead singer of the Irish band Thin Lizzie, wrote a song about their reunion at Finnegan's Pub in Dublin (where their farther used to drink) before their tragic deaths called "The Boys are Back in Town".

Marley is buried in his what was formerly believed to be his native town of Nine Miles, Jamaica, but recently his widow, Rita Marley, has announced her desire to move him to Ireland. "Bob's whole life was about Africa, it is not about Jamaica, but his soul never left Ireland," she said. "How can you give up a continent for an island? It's very hard, but Ireland gave him his life, and Dublin him his rhythm, and ganja took him close to Ja."
