Prince Charles to visit Toxteth Town Hall

It seems the rumour on Liverpool Indymedia in February has been confirmed. If recent activity at Toxteth Town Hall is anything to go by, Prince Charles will be visiting on 23rd April.
Staff at Toxteth Town Hall were today sent a memo saying that the building would be closed to the public on Monday 23rd April. The memo did not say why, and the management refused to say when they were asked. However, the building manager was seen touring the building with ten men in suits. She did not introduce them to anybody, which is strange in itself, but they appeared to be security people. It looks like the building is in for a visit from a VIP.
The Town Hall has had the odd visit from government ministers in the past, and there was nothing like this level of security or secrecy. Who could require more security than a government minister? Surely it can only be royalty.
When the tale spread among the Town Hall staff that Prince Charles would be visiting, some declared their intention not to turn up for work that day. But should anybody want to give him a right royal welcome on 23rd April, Toxteth Town Hall is on High Park Street next to the Jobcentre.
