Zimbabwe

The Home Office and anti-deportation campaigners are fighting a legal
battle over whether it is safe to send thousands of asylum-seekers
back.

Iraq

Three planeloads of Iraqi Kurds have been forcibly removed despite
escalating violence and unrest in the Kurdish north.

Democratic Republic of Congo

Five bishops and the actor Colin Firth led a campaign against
removals to this West African country.

Afghanistan

Although violence grips large parts of the country, the return of
failed asylum seekers has been enforced.

Sri Lanka

Until recently, there was no right of appeal against rejected asylum
applications from Sri Lanka. The deteriorating security situatiion
has forced a rethink by the Home Office.
