A special event to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Indian Uprising of 1857, considered by many to be the First War of Independence. With a Seminar looking at the significance of 1857 to the national liberation movements that followed it and current world events.
Followed by a Reception at 6pm and screening of The Rising a rousing epic starring Aamir Khan as Mangal Pandey a Sepoy whose actions led to the rebellion against British East India Company rule.
