What are the arts for in 'Creative Sheffield'?

The Cultural Design Trust in association with Access Space are pleased
to invite you to an open debate:
-Maybe you've heard that Sheffield has branded its new city-wide
economic regeneration agency as "Creative Sheffield"...
-Most likely you've heard that Sheffield's got a "Cultural Strategy"...
WERE YOU ASKED ABOUT ANY OF THIS?
Were your views taken into account?
Perhaps you've had previous experience of agencies that claim to
represent
your views, but don't.
Ever get the feeling that the views of artists, musicians, designers,
environmentalists, urban designers, cultural activists and creative workers aren't REALLY represented?
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT?
Come and speak up for what you feel is valuable about the arts and culture. Indeed
is the current restricted definition of the arts valid any more?
Only by articulating why people should care about the arts can we get
other people to value them. And what's the point. Well, if you don't
represent your views, someone else might!
