Just reporting possible Far Right activity in Dover, Kent UK.

According to a local District and County Council member, some really bad racist slogans have been appearing recently in the Clarendon Road/ Street area of Dover.

This is worrying as District Council elections are just round the corner. I wonder if the BNP will field any candidates? Just a thought.

I am also told from the same reliable source that the same graffiti slogans have appeared recently in the Tower Hamlets of Dover. This is rather worrying.

Yes, it could be the same person doing both! I have a feeling that I may be being fed this information as a New Labour scare tactic to possibly win them a few more votes at the forthcoming elections. Perhaps I am being told so that I might alert the local press to it. I doubt very much whether the BNP will be standing around here, but I'll soon find out. Having wandered around the Clarendon Street area over the last few days, I cannot see any slogans anywhere. I think that this New Labour local politician may be indulging in a spot of fantasy for his own ends. The slogans [should they ever have existed] may have appeared for entirely another reason. Then again, I am somewhat paranoid! I see little difference between New Labour and the BNP in the reality of things. Both are a threat to peace and progress.

I have since learned from two other people that these slogans did in fact exist in several places in the Clarendon and Tower Hamlets areas, and are not a product of someone's fertile imagination. People were so concerned that they got the po-lice involved and the slogans were removed very quickly as a result. I'll keep y'all posted of any further developments.

In the 'IN BRIEF' column on the right hand side of page 4 (Dover Mercury, 29 March 2007), there is the following item:

Racist graffiti in alleyway

POLICE are investigating racist slogans which have been daubed on walls along alleyways in the Clarendon area of Dover.
"We could do without this, especially in the run-up to an election," said ward councillor Keith Sansum.

Anyone can draw racist grafitti, what sort of racism was it? doesnt say.. could have said ' white people suck' for all we know, stop scaremongering....
