Strange stuff

Strange stuff. Especially the "Blair's Sly Euro Sell-Out". That campaign seems to me like an appeal to national sentiments instead of fighting for a united Europe and therefore against the beaurocratic machine of EU it drifts into a dangerous nationalism...
Don't quiet see the emancipatory potential in that I must confess. The whole thing seems to be contaminated with terms such as the "British people". The final critique is more than right but the argumentation seems strange to me.

NO BORDERS! NO NATIONS!

The EU has borders

xxx - "That campaign seems to me like an appeal to national sentiments instead of fighting for a united Europe"

And then you sign off:

xxx - "NO BORDERS! NO NATIONS!"

This is just as problematic as the campaign you are having a go at -- for EU citizens there are already very few border controlls *within* Europe, but there are strongers borders between the EU and the rest of the world and prison camps.

If you are really opposed to borders and nations you should also be opposing the EU, it is an emerging European state and it has borders.

In the fight against the police state that is being justified by the "War on Terror" there will need to be new alliances. If we don't unite, at some level, in opposition to it we will all lose.

PS the video they are shipping out to people for free can be watched here:

Opposing the police state

The Peoples United Collective web site has links to many campaigns opposing the Police state, but some, like these, are missing:

Cageprisoners.com is a non-sectarian Islamic human rights website that exists solely to raise awareness of the plight of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and other detainees held as part of the War on Terror.
