"We fix, we build!! Occupied against speculation, against gentrification"

A group of local south londoners have opened up a building in Camberwell, and are fixing it up to run it as a social space. It aims to be a centre open to the local community, and right now lots of work is going on fixing and repairing the space so to open it with regular events, including a caffe every Friday and film nights every Wednesday.

The Camberwell Squatted Centre is at:
192 Warham St, off Camberwell New Rd
Camberwell SE5
Buses: 36, 436, 185 - Tube: Oval [Map]

This new occupation in London is an open initiative where everyone can get involved. The group that initiated the project state:

This building had been left to rot by 'developers'. It was basically falling down. A small group of local people have begun to repair it, re-use it, recycle it. It's work in progress. We are fixing up a ruined building to have cafes, film nights, socials and more...

...We occupy and use the space without needing tons of money to enable us to enjoy a free social space. But we occupy to share the space with those who are a little bit tired of how things are! Be occupied!
