As a marcher on the Stop The War demonstration on 24th Feb 2007 which included Trident not being replaced I called for workers to walk-out of their jobs on the march. This seems a very good approach to a march at present and it would be good if some of the leaders of marchers were to invite such protests on marchers.

At the march on February 24th 2007 from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square I called for workers to walk out of their jobs and join the march. I really do think this ought to be a more official stance at the present time. I cannot believe when the whole world is threatened by a combination of nuclear wastage and climate destruction that more 'radical' action is not being called for on marches. Surely, the radical left wing union leaders on the march and others cannot be clinging to their hope of promotion and so not asking for workers to walk out of their jobs in central London at such an important march. This lack of more radical action is causing me to give up on the movement. Blocking at Faslane is receiving little media attention apart from the Greenpeace block which is as well not that well received. ...
