Social centre event and calendar?

It would be nice if the Events Calender reappeared - though perhaps more prominent - as much that appears on the news wire are announcements/ads for demos, actions, social centre events, etc ( as well as analysis/features) and it would be clearer to see what is coming up if the calendar appears.
The old one was too hidden ( and thus underused ) and I think for that reason people tended to park their posts to the newswire.
That way i wouldn't be posting this Fringe Autonomous Space Benefit gig message here :)
It's a Kaos Kabartet and is on tonight ( friday ) at Ramparts Social Centre, rampart st, whitechapel ( off Commercial Rd )

featuring music from David Cronebergs Wife, 12 Volt Vandals, The RUB, and some pikey hip hop crew :) plus comedy and poetry from Eiyts the Welsh tart., Becky Fury, and others. plus DJs and Sir gideon vein ( deceased ) as compere 4 the evening.

We are working on a new events calendar, it's nearly done. It should (hopefully) be a little easier on the eye than the protest.net calendar, and it should have some new features as well to make it easier for users and easier for admins.
Hold tight, with any luck it'll be up in a couple of weeks.
